The Centre, one of the largest research and development centres in Canada, with over 25,000 sq. m. of laboratories and offices, including 500 hectares of agricultural land. The Centre houses an insect-microbial Level Three Containment facility, a climate controlled greenhouse, facilities for livestock and a weather station. The commissioning process for this facility involved the testing and verification of a complex air handling system and associated controls. The laboratories included more than 120+ fume hoods spread throughout the building, following a major energy retrofit project. The commissioning process was particularly difficult as parts of the system were already in use and the building was fully occupied.
