S.A.I.T. Domestic Hot Water Redundancy

RSR is the mechanical and electrical commissioning agents for the $4 Million Domestic Hot Water Redundancy Project completed in 2024 at SAIT.

The project involved adding a steam domestic hot water system in the main plant and providing domestic hot water to several buildings within the campus including:

• Senator Burns Building
• Stan Grad Centre
• John Ware Building
• East Hall
• Begin Tower
• Heritage Hall

The buildings individual steam heat exchangers, tanks were isolated and the new system was energized to provide temporary domestic hot water. A new Steam boiler and electric domestic hot water tanks were also installed and commissioned as part of the project as well as installation of steam services valves in the tunnels between buildings. Three separate projects and General Contractors were coordinated for commissioning as part of the project.
